Material choices for this job became clear, based on the customer’s desire to build new office space for up to 50 employees and have it blend seamlessly into the rolling Nebraska countryside. When designing the building to replicate a vintage barn, Floors Inc. worked closely with the owner and went to great lengths to keep all the finish materials looking like they were meant for the rustic, organic space.
Milliken Colorfield Patina Wood Bark and Colorfield Sorrel both had that weathered barn plank look. Installing them in both herringbone and staggered patterns separated the open-air office spaces from those offices around the perimeter of the building.
Daltile’s Cotto Contempo in both Sunset Boulevard and Wall Street porcelain tiles have that weathered cobblestone look that completed the restrooms and shower areas for field engineers.
The Philadelphia/Shaw El Paso engineered hardwood floors in the color Leather was a perfect finish for the first-floor corridors with its weathered, hand-scraped finish – complimenting the acid-washed corrugated steel installed as a wainscot.
In the employee kitchen and break room area, Karndean’s Opus Robigo 18×36 LVT gives the floor the casual patina steel look with easy maintenance.
